Hope Warriors Dharma Talk-The Sadness and Happiness of Being Altruistic

The Sadness and Happiness of Being Altruistic

…the amount of your wish to be happy is the amount of how much you are wishing to be Altruistic

You know that the level of altruism, giving heart, is the level of happiness, because the amount of being altruistic is the amount of the unification with the Great Spirit of the Universe and the amount of the unification received with the Great Spirit of the Universe is the amount of Happiness.

Even though one knows those things subconsciously, because of fear, people won’t live based on altruism. People hesitate to live because of fear and also because not so many people are living like this. Human beings have a karma, which is a tendency to live like the others.

…even though is a minority, there are some people who are breaking through this karma, to live based on altruism, the way of happiness, to live for others and the world, they receive the unification from the Great Spirit of the Universe and The Great Love of The Great Spirit of the Universe will be given to those who live for others and the world of happiness. They find themselves as the beings of happiness.

Just as you might try to rescue an abused dog, they might bite you because of the fear, even though you wish for their happiness. Because you wish for their happiness, you try to make them live altruistically, they might criticize you, misunderstand, doubt, resist, and then you would feel sad and might suffer.

Even though not so many people respond to live altruistically and you feel sad, through this the Great Love penetrates into your heart and you will start to fulfill the tenderness, the warmth, the kindness of the Great Love of The Great Spirit of the Universe.

There is a quote in the Lotus Sutra, “Because of the Sadness I felt, I gradually increased my enlightenment”.
